Robotic Surgery
Sequoia Hospital is committed to providing innovative and exceptional health care to Bay Area patients. The da Vinci Surgical System provides Sequoia Hospital surgeons with an alternative to both traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy, putting surgeon’s hands at the controls of a state-of-the-art robotic platform. The da Vinci Surgical System is comprised of computer enhanced technology, robotic hands, two cameras and enables surgeons to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision.
Sequoia currently offers patients requiring surgery for prostate cancer (prostatectomy) or kidney (renal) cancer this innovative surgical option. Surgeons will also be using the da Vinci system for procedures in urology; gynecology, including gynecological cancers, hysterectomies and uterine fibroid removal; cardiovascular and general surgery.
For the patient, benefits may include:
• Significantly less pain
