Our Mission


The mission of Sequoia Hospital, as a part of Catholic Healthcare West, is to promote healing and wellness in partnership with physicians by providing compassionate, quality, cost-effective care to meet the identified needs of the communities we serve, with special consideration for the poor and underserved.

Our Vision

Sequoia Hospital will be known as "A great place to get care, and a great place to give care." We will distinguish ourselves by:

  • Providing a broad range of high quality, readily accessible and compassionate services to residents of the Sequoia Healthcare District and surrounding communities.
  • Building a new medical campus with an acute care hospital that meets State seismic guidelines and a comprehensive ambulatory care complex supporting innovative clinical and business models.
  • Being a renowned leader in cardiovascular services and building marquee programs in vascular medicine, orthopedics, and spine.
  • Attracting and retaining exceptional physicians through a physician strategy supporting recruitment and retention, managed care contracting, and innovative business models.
  • Embracing family-centered care for women and children.
  • Leading in the development of outpatient care delivery, including education, community outreach, diagnostics and treatments.
  • Attracting employees by fostering a culture that encourages superior clinical outcomes and customer service; supports employee development; and respects the values of patients, physicians, employees, and purchasers.
