Early Detection and Prevention

Sequoia Hospital's first responsibility is to keep you and your family healthy. In an effort to raise awareness for cancer prevention through early screening and education, Sequoia has partnered with three local non-profit organizations:

  • Bonnie J Addario Lung Cancer Foundation
  • Have a Ball Testicular Cancer Foundation
  • Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation

Together, our goal is to raise awareness for cancer prevention. Sequoia recommends cancer screenings for you and your family, based on guidelines from the American Cancer Society. Talk to your doctor about what screenings are best for you and schedule them today.

Sequoia is proud to offer state-of-the-art medical care and support services for cancer patients and their families. From the advanced technology of our radiation oncology department to helpful education, community resources and support programs, we promote a multi-faceted path to health and wellness.

Free New Strength/Fitness Program Available at Sequoia YMCA

Living Strong Living Well (LSLW) is a free twelve-week small-group strength and fitness training program designed for adult cancer survivors who have recently become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and/or disease. The goal is to help patients build muscle mass and muscle strength, increase flexibility and endurance, improve functional ability and quality of life. Research is now showing that physical activity may decrease recurrence and increase survivorship for cancer patients.

Visit the Living Strong Living Well website for registration information.
